Ⅱ. Necessity of the Bible Interpretation
1. Biblical evidence(Bible support bible)
Biblical analysis helps interpreters interpret the text of the Bible according to the interpretation principle.
1) Luke 24: 26, 27
The text shows an example of the resurrected Jesus himself interpreting the Bible.
The two who went to Emmaus did not know anything about Jesus.
It is expressed in Luke 24:25 as "those who believe slowly in their hearts."
What they did not understand the Bible came from lack of understanding, despite knowing the Old Testament (Ps 22: 11-21; 118: 22; Isa 53: 1-12; John 12: 32-33).
He also expressed himself in the New Testament (Matthew 16:21; 20:19; Luke 9:22). But they did not know. That is why Jesus became a Bible interpreter.
The Bible was opened by Jesus, the helper of the closed Bible, to understand.
Jesus found a record of himself in every Bible.
2) Act 8: 26-35
Since there is no “leader” in Acts 8:31, how can you realize?
Here, Philip is teaching the Bible to the treasurer of Candace, Queen Ethiopia.
He is guiding him. This is the Bible interpretation.
The treasurer did not know the Bible unless Philip had given it.
a) The role of the Holy Spirit was shown in Bible interpretation.
“The Spirit told Philip (Act 8: 29)”. The man was lead by the Bible interpreter.
b) The man was used for the Bible interpretation.
c) We need a Bible interpretation for understanding the Bible.
The financial minister could not understand the word of Isaiah. So he needs a Bible interpreter.
d) The end of the Bible interpretation is clear that is “which are able to
make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus”.
3) 2peter 3: 16
“16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.”
which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.”
a) Necessity of the Bible interpretation
b) We need the Bible interpreter
c) We should be humble attitude for the Bible interpretation.
d) A thorough study of the Bible text is needed
4) 2Timothy 2: 15
Paul advised Timothy to be a good servant.
a) The word of truth must be properly discerned.
b) Be a worker without shame.
If you want above two a), b), the Bible interpretation should be a correct.
Many people did wrong interpretation.
So they became a heresy.
5) Summary of Biblical evidence
a) All scriptures need to be necessity of the Bible interpretation.
The Bible was originally written to be interpreted, so the Bible should be interpreted as it should.
b) All scriptures need the Bible interpreter.
c) Bible interpretation must be Christ-centered. It should be redemptive.
d) Interpretation is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit.
e) We must study humbly before the Bible.
2. Discipline of Jesus
Jesus quoted to the Old Testament without doubt,
John 5:39, you study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,
Lk 24: 27, And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Lk 24: 44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
Jesus quotes the old testament in new testament.
a) Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:27; 2:24)-Lessons about marriage (Matthew 19:4, 5)
Gen 1: 27, So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Mtt 19: 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’
b) Abel's death (Genesis 4:8)-used to describe judgment (Luke 11:51)
Gen 4: 8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
Lk 11: 51, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all.
c) Noah and the Flood (Genesis 6-8)-Explain the unprepared world at the Second Coming of Christ (Luke 17: 26, 27)
Lk 17: 26 “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all
d) Abraham (Genesis 15-25)-used to describe the divinity and eternity of Christ (John 8:56-58)
John 8: 56-58,
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
57 “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”
58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”
59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds
.

Sodom and Gomorrah and Lot's Wife (Genesis 19)-Explain what will happen at the Second Coming of Christ (Luke 17: 28-32; 10: 12)
Lk 10: 12, I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.
f) Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis 25)-Explain that the chosen people will possess heaven (Matthew 8: 11, 12)
Mtt 8: 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth
g) Moses and the Ten Commandments (Ex 20:12; Le 20:9)-Explaining family duties (Mark 7: 9, 10)
Mk 7: 9, and he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’
h) Manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16)-Explaining Jesus Himself as the bread of Life (John 6: 31-51)

John 3: 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
j) David and the show bread (1 Samuel 21: 6)-Explain the truth that the Sabbath is for man (Mark 2: 25, 26)

Mk 2: 25 He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? 26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”
k) Solomon and Queen Sheba (1 Kings 10)-Explain the judgment of Jesus,
who is greater than Solomon (Matthew 12:42)

l) Elijah and the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17)-Miracle explanation through faith (Luke 4: 25, 26)
Lk 4: 25 I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. 26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.
m) Elisha and Naaman (2 Kings 5)-A miracle explanation through faith (Luke 4: 27)

Jesus quoted Matthew 22: 29 (whose wife after the resurrection?) and said,
“You are wrong because you do not know the Bible or the power of God.”
Jesus points out that we do not know about the Bible (Old Testament).
