35. Healing Prayer II
35. Healing Prayer II
John 5:5-9
5 One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”
7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”
8 Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”
9 Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath,
▣ During the Passover, Jesus went to a pool called Bethesda in Jerusalem.
There, he heals a patient who has been unable to move for 38 years.
The man had some difficulties.
First, I have been in this state for 38 years.
He lived not a year, not two, but 38 years ill.
Now that we are used to it, there is no hope any more.
But he still did not give up the faith to get better.
Second, he has no one to help.
He said there was no one around to help him.
People's hopes are based on people.
The person has no hope for people.
But he did not give up his faith.
Third, there is no other alternative right now.
He has no other way out of this life.
But the man did not give up the belief that he needed to be healed.
He had nothing else, but only faith. Faith turned that person's life upside down.
1. You must have faith.
6 When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” (John 5:6).
What the Lord wanted to confirm with this man was his faith.
7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” (John 5:7).
He wants to get better, but there is no way.
The Lord wants to confirm the person's faith.
There were many sick people at Bethesda Pond, but only those who wanted to be healed were healed.
Faith changed that person's destiny.
Man's biggest problem is not a physical disease, but a spiritual one.
Poverty is not the problem.
The idea of that poverty is the problem.
The Lord asks if the person still has faith in healing no matter how unfavorable the conditions are.
You have confirmed.
If you have a disease that can be cured by taking medicine, there is no need to ask this question.
There is no other hope except for the power of the Lord.
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” (Matthew 9:29).
2. The secret to healing lies in our identity.
12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. (John 1:12-13).
We are children of the Lord. The Lord loves His children. He wants you to touch, heal and whole your beloved children. That is why he always answers the prayers of his children. Already the Lord is ready to answer.
3. Healing is the will of the Lord
2 Dear friends, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. (3 John 1:2).
The Lord's desire for Christians is that they may prosper and be in good health.
The Christian life is in Jesus Christ.
Each Christian's life does not depend on their circumstances and circumstances.
Their lives are in the love and power of the Lord who saved them through His precious blood.
The Lord wants to save each and every Christian.
He also wants each individual Christian to be healthy, live a wealthy and blessed life.
A study by a research team at a U.S. university has revealed that prayer can actually help cure disease.
A research team from Indiana University in the United States found that in Mozambique, Africa, near blind and deaf patients.
As a result of observing the condition after conducting ‘close intercession prayer’ (PIP) in claimed to have been relieved.
The research team, led by Professor Candy Gunter Brown, included scientists and doctors, and included 14 deaf and 11 blind people living in Mozambique.
The research team's PIP was conducted in the form of at least one person praying in front of the patient and frequent physical contact.
Christians continued PIP for 1-15 minutes, and some spent more than an hour with people with disabilities, putting their hands on their heads and engaging in physical contact, such as hugging.
As a result, the hearing of eleven participants in the experiment improved significantly and their visual impairment was significantly reduced.
In particular, two deaf participants were able to hear sounds as low as 50 decibels (dB) after prayer.
In addition, the three blind participants also had a much better vision than barely perceiving light greatly improved.
Healing prayer is God's will to restore the Christian body. Amen
