29. Prayer in Tongues I

1 Corinthians 14: 14-15

14 For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying.

15 Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit,[a] and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand.

What the spirit prays and what the heart feels is a different world.

When you pray in tongues, your spirit is full of joy and grace, but you do not know anything with your heart and knowledge. People don't know much about praying in tongues because they know the spiritual value of tongues through knowledge. It's like people ignorant of music can't appreciate the value of a great performer.

Developing the mind and developing the senses of the spirit are different.

Enriching the intellect and sensibility of the heart is different from enriching and renewing the functions of the spirit.

The more you pray in tongues, the more your inner senses are revived and felt.

The voices of the Spirit, the impressions of the Spirit, that arise from within are different from those that belong to the heart of the outward man.

This is not a difference in personality, but a difference in holiness.

The inner and the spirit become richer and fuller the more we pray in tongues.

It points out things that reason does not understand, and inspires new inspiration.

If you pray in tongues, the realm of the spirit, your inner senses, will come alive and you can experience that world.

There are things that can only be seen when you go there, and things that can only be felt there. Just as the feeling of seeing a travel destination in a photograph is different from the feeling of going there, so is the spiritual world.

Knowing with knowledge is different from going to that realm and seeing and enjoying it.

Personally, praying in tongues has broadened the horizons of my prayer life.

The world of tongues prayer was a new spiritual realm. Through continuous prayer in tongues, I experienced wonderful grace in the Lord.

Through prayer in tongues, countless abilities were revealed.

1. You will enjoy the presence of God even more.

What I felt most clearly while praying in tongues was the presence of God.

He prayed in many ways before that.

I prayed fast and prayed all night long.

Even then, he enjoyed God's many graces.

He heard the voice and experienced the power.

Through continuous prayer in tongues, I experienced that my inner senses that I had never felt before were revived.

He had always longed for the Lord, but the experience of his presence was not so powerful.

Now, the place of prayer has become a place where you are happy and want to stay longer.

It is not a prayer to mumble about the Lord, but a prayer to meet the Lord and know, experience, and enjoy the Lord more

The time has come.

Prayer in tongues is not an answer from God, but the ability to enjoy intimacy with God and experience God.

Prayer in tongues saves the spirit within us, and the more the spirit lives, the more we experience the presence of God.

Prayer in tongues allows us to fully enjoy God's presence everywhere, at all times.

2. Deeper insight into the Word.

If you continue to pray in tongues, you will deepen your insight into the Word.

You can feel the flow of the spirit hidden in the words that you normally do not know and gain new realization.

Rather than accumulating knowledge of the Word, we come to know Jesus Christ personally by meeting Him.

You will enjoy abundant fellowship with the Word.

In the meantime, as a preacher, I have always studied the Bible as the subject of my sermons.

But now I enjoy the grace of hearing the Word as the voice of the Lord for myself.

After praying in tongues, sermons became the great joy of ministry.

These changes will never come within me.

It is not a change that can be obtained from a person.

Through prayer in the Word and in tongues, I gained insight, senses, and realization, and all my spiritual values were changed.

3. A sense of God's guidance arises.

In the past, I thought that God was ruling and directing our lives, but in real life, I felt vaguely.

However, through prayer in tongues, my inner sense has been revived, and thanks to this, I am feeling and realizing more of God's guidance in my life.

Previously, no matter what I prayed for, I lacked certainty about what God wants and whether my actions are right in the sight of God now.

But now, whenever I pray in tongues, I experience the convictions or thoughts of my heart coming into me through some inner sense.

We visit other churches to lead meetings each week.

Most of the churches are visiting for the first time, so they do not know the direction of the pastor's ministry or the spiritual state of the church.

So I pray that the meetings I lead will help build up that church.

Each time, I experience God speaking very clearly about the church and leading me. The same is true when praying for the sick.

It also allows us to know in advance the diseases that God will cure.

4. You will enjoy abundant spiritual gifts.

Prayer in tongues rejuvenates your inner spiritual senses so that you can enjoy more spiritual gifts.

One of them is to feel the heart and inner condition of the person around you.

When the person next to you has fear or anger in your heart, you feel a similar feeling inside. When I am next to someone who has been hurt so much, my heart hurts even if that person does not say anything.

I feel the person's anxiety and loneliness at the same time.

Through this spiritual awareness, we can comfort, encourage, and build up members who are close to us.

This is not knowing through human words, but knowing by spirit, so you can help the other person even with things they don't know about themselves.

This continuous prayer in tongues awakens many gifts that enrich and enrich the spiritual life of individuals and communities. Amen
