14. Why Prayer is important.

SSamuel 2022. 4. 27. 07:39

1 Peter 4:7

7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

In prayer, God first makes a way and we follow that promise. Answers to prayers can only be received by going to the place God has promised.

Prayer is not what we can do, but what God wants us to do.

Here's the secret to praying longer and more dedicated.

If you look at the great prayer people, they are all dedicated to prayer.

Disarmed Christians who have the form of prayer but have lost the power of prayer are bound to lose the spiritual warfare.

Many people say they pray, but they do not cross the threshold of prayer. We cannot go into a deeper encounter with the Lord. It is because we do not know why deep prayer is important.

1. We meet God through prayer.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. (James 4:8).

There is no channel more important than prayer when God rules over mankind.

The power of God works only when there is the most powerful power of prayer.

God's work of delivering Israel from bondage in Egypt began with Moses' prayer.

Hannah's earnest prayers for his son gave birth to Samuel.

Esther's prayer that risked her life saved the nation.

The early church began with the prayers of the apostles.

A Christian encounters God only through prayer.

The reason we cannot meet God is not because God is not near, but because we do not realize that God exists.

Without prayer, we cannot find God.

2. When we pray, we are filled with the Holy Spirit.

1 On the day of Pentecost[a] all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages,[b] as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. (Acts 2:1-4).

When the church unites in prayer, the more powerful work of the Holy Spirit will be revealed.

In the book of Acts, when 120 disciples prayed in Mark's upper room, the work of being filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost was revealed.

29 And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. 30 Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:29-31).

Peter and the apostles gathered together and prayed with one mind.

When they had finished their prayers, the place where they were gathered shook and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

When you pray, the Holy Spirit works.

The seat of prayer is the powerhouse of the Holy Spirit.

3. Prayer is the power to overcome you.

41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” (Matthew 26:41).

We pray to get something from the Lord. But more than that. There is something important. We pray that we will not fall into temptation.

The Lord's Prayer says, "Lead us not into temptation."

It means that our lives are always exposed to temptation.

Human nature cannot break itself.

Even if you believe in God well, you turn back.

The temptation that Jesus received in the wilderness for 40 days after starting his public life came from Satan, and Jesus’ final prayer was, “Not as I will. You are more difficult than the devil.

It is really difficult to change my wrongly formed values.

It's also the only way to defeat me.

Spurgeon said that if you succeed without prayer, you will perish because of your success. When you pray and succeed, you become humble.

But if you succeed without prayer, you become proud.

There is nothing in the world that can take the place of prayer.

Prayer must be filled with prayer, and prayer must be solved through prayer.
