D. Bang's Message (Jehovah God came to save me.)
Text: Exodus 6: 2~13
Title: “Jehovah God Came to Save Me”
1. The title of God, ‘Jehovah’, is first found in Genesis 2:4.
2. “This is the history of the heavens and the earth when the heavens and the earth were created. On the day the Lord God made the earth and the heavens…….”
3. Moses believed that the God he met was the one who created the heavens and the earth.
4. Jehovah is read in British English pronunciation.
5. If you read it in the original language, it is 'Ehowa'.
6. The reason for this is that there are no vowels in the original Hebrew language.
7. If you read it with 4 consonants, you will read Yahweh.
8. It is Jehovah who inserted vowels to make Yahweh easier to read.
9. Jehovah introduced himself to Moses, saying, “I am who I am.”
10. What is the real meaning of this Jehovah?
11. The Hebrew alphabet has its own meaning.
12. A certain shape was imaged with hieroglyphs.
13. A study of its meaning reveals a wonderful secret.
14. Let's look at the meaning of the four consonants of Jehovah.
15. ‘Yod’ has the meaning of hand.
16. ‘He’ is a breathing hole, which means ‘look’.
17. ‘Wow’ means hook.
18. ‘He’ also has the meaning of ‘look’.
19. So, if you combine the four consonants of Jehovah, it is 'look at the hand, look at the hook'.
20. Here, 'look' is an exclamation of sigh or surprise.
21. Some Old Testament commentators say that God's name refers to the crucified Christ in 'look at the hands and look at the nails'.
22. I'm not sure if this association is correct.
23. But it looks plausible.
24. But we are not to seek out God's secrets in images or likenesses.
25. We must discover the message and history of salvation that Jehovah God gives us through the entire Old Testament.
26. God reveals himself to us through the Word, and Christ, the Son, came into the world through the Word of God.
27. The meaning of the name of Jehovah is 'Alpha' and 'Omega', as Jesus said, 'the first and the last'.
28. Yahweh is the Creator God, who saved Israel from slavery in Egypt.
29. Jehovah came into the world with the Word to save us from being enslaved to death by being enslaved by sin, death, and the devil.
30. Let's read Exodus 6:2 together.
“God spoke to Moses and said, I am the Lord.”
31. I am Jehovah. I am that I am
32. God will deliver Israel from slavery in Egypt to Moses from the hands of Pharaoh.
33. Do you doubt my abilities?
34. I am Jehovah.
35. What would I be unable to do?
36. In this way, God directly told Moses that He is the God of mighty power.
37. God's conversation with Moses was not impromtu.
38. God watched closely the descendants of Abraham for a long time.
39. And you were with them even though you were far from them.
40. When such a God let them groan in pain, God finally remembered the covenant with Abraham.
41. Let's read Exodus 6:3 together.
“I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty, but my name, Jehovah, was not known to them.”
42. He appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as the Almighty God, the Creator God.
43. But to Moses the same God came nearer.
44. God revealed more so that Moses could know God better than the expression that God came close to Moses.
45. God made Moses a leader for Abraham's descendants.
46. All this to keep the covenant with Abraham.
47. Let's read Genesis 22: 16-18 together.
“I swear by myself, saith the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will greatly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. shall possess the gates of his enemies, and through your offspring all the peoples of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed my words.”
48. This is the covenant that God blessed Abraham when he was about to bring Isaac up to Mount Moriah and offer it as a sacrifice.
49. These are the words of God's blessing to Abraham.
50. The words are very brief, but the contents contained in them are very rich.
51. It contains the reason and background of God's blessing to Abraham and the contents of the blessing to Abraham.
52. At the same time, it contains the joy and overwhelming feeling of God speaking the words.
53. And there is also a desperate heart that 'God hopes to gain a person who obeys his word'.
54. Here we learned that God cherishes, loves, and has mercy on those who obey His Word and obey His commands.
55. We also saw the price God paid and the agony he went through to gain man.
56. Furthermore, we can see that the sorrow and pain that God endures alone in this work of redemption is contained in the words, “I swear by myself.”
57. These words have a special meaning and great influence for us.
58. Mount Moriah is a mountain in the Canaan region.
59. Mount Moriah is the land that Israel will later conquer.
60. Why did God ask Abraham to sacrifice such a cruel man?
61. Abraham, Isaac's father, obeyed the word of God and went to Mount Moriah, which was designated as a place for sacrifice. (Genesis 22:1-5)
62. There are many interpretations of Abraham's obedience.
63. The first Christian interpretation is that Abraham's faith was that great.
64. It is said that the obedience of Abraham, who was known to have walked with God at the time, foreshadowed ‘Jesus,’ the Son of God and the Lamb to come later.
65. In the second half of Genesis 22 of the Bible, when Abraham looked up to see Abraham's faith, he saw a ram hanging in a bush.
66. And it comes out that this ram was offered as a burnt offering, and this ram symbolizes Jesus.
67. This Mount Moriah is mentioned twice more in the Old Testament.
68. It is the time of David, the greatest king that Israel still dreams of.
69. In the last years of David's reign, God's wrath came upon all Israel.
70. The place where David held a sacrifice to stop this plague was the threshing floor of Araunah (Ornan) (2 Samuel 24:18-25, 1 Chronicles 21:15-22:1).
71. God requires us to buy this land through angels and to build an altar here.
72. Araunah (Ornan), the owner of the land, told David to just use the land, but David paid the price and bought the land.
73. The house of God will be built on that land (1 Chronicles 22: 1)
74. And in the end Solomon the son of David builds the house of God in that land.
75. Let's read 2 Chronicles 3:1 together.
“Solomon began to build the house of the Lord on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, where the Lord had previously appeared to his father David, and David had appointed it on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.”
76. Let's come back to the main text of Exodus.
77. There is an important event in which the Israelites were determined to lead the Israelites to Canaan, the land of the covenant with Abraham.
78. It seems that God forgot the covenant of the Israelites.
79. How blasphemous is it that God forgets?
80. God, the omnipotent creator and the one who operates all things in the universe, cannot forget Israel.
81. Let's read Exodus 6:5 together.
“Now I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians made slaves of, and I remember my covenant.”
82. We read this text as the ‘Modern Man’s Bible’.
“But I heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians had made slaves, and I remembered my covenant.”
83. The groaning of the Israelites reminds us of God's covenant.
84. Groaning translates to moaning (groaning) in English.
85. Remember when we, God's elect, struggle with pain in this world.
86. God remembers his covenant with me.
87. Don't be too heartbroken because these days are difficult times to live in.
88. Pray to God every day.
89. There is no better way than to pray.
90. Don't make prayer complicated, pray simply.
91. God, it's really hard to live. please save me
92. Let's read Exodus 6:6 together.
“Therefore say to the children of Israel, I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burden of the Egyptians, and deliver you from their slavery; I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and many great judgments.”
93. God's specific promises are fulfilled.
94. First. I'll pull you out from under the heavy load.
95. There are burdens too heavy for me to bear in our lives.
96. This heavy burden is beyond my reach.
97. Let's read Matthew 11:28 together.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
When they come to church services on Sundays, the members come with heavy burdens.”
98. I see people carrying so heavy and difficult burdens of life.
99. Now this time is the time to rest while listening to the word of the Lord from those heavy burdens.
100. Those who sleep during the sermon are unable to give their heavy burdens to the Lord and carry them back.
101. You cannot properly enjoy rest if your heart is too deep in the world.
102. Don't try to carry a lot of luggage in normal times.
103. Second. Delivers you from slavery.
104. In our time, we do not know what forced labor is.
105. The Israelites were mobilized for forced labor in Egypt.
106. There are people who were mobilized for forced labor in Egypt and never returned.
107. We should be happy to do our jobs.
108. I must never be forced to do my daily work.
109. My job was given by God to make me happy.
110. A common phenomenon among Christians is that we do not have Monday sickness.
111. Welcome Monday, the beginning of the week with grace and joy on the Lord's Day.
112. When you are far from God, everything feels like servitude.
113. We must pray that God will deliver us from this servitude.
114. Third. He redeems our debt.
115. It means that you will pay all your debts instead.
116. The redemption given to the Egyptians is a great calamity.
117. If you persecute or harass God's people for no reason, you will be returned with a great disaster.
118. Church members should be more careful with each other.
119. The ecclesial community must take care of one another, love and serve one another.
120. We must be humble, brothers, sisters, elders, elders, and deacons, and keep good etiquette.
121. If you act arrogantly, God waits and brings a great disaster.
122. Let's read Exodus 6:7 together.
“I will make you my people, and I will be your God, and you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the burden of the Egyptians.”
123. The God who delivered the Israelites from the harsh slavery of Egypt is still my God.
124. Believe.
125. The same God.
126. Who can I trust more than God?
127. God alone is the object of my faith.
128. Repeatedly God says, "I am the Lord, you shall know that I am the Lord your God."
129. Even though he said this, the Israelites did not believe.
130. Many times they have been told by their fathers that they must return to the land they swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
131. It is said in the old texts that this word was taught habitually when a child was born.
132. Through oral literature, they read, listened to, and preached these words throughout their lives as if they were eating a meal.
133. However, when Moses returned and preached these words, the Old Covenant, they did not believe it.
134. This kind of case can often be experienced in our religious life.
135. No matter how much I pray, there is no answer, and my life becomes more and more difficult.
136. We give up in this case because our faith is not so great.
137. Then he said he left everything to God.
138. And try to forget it all.
139. In fact, forgetting is also grace.
140. It is better to forget quickly and live than to remember and suffer constantly.
141. But the covenant must not be forgotten.
142. There is a covenant that God gave me in my heart when I first met him.
143. The covenant given to me is Deuteronomy 28:12.
144. “The LORD will open for you the treasures of the heavens, and he will give rain to your land in its season, and he will bless you in all the work of your hands. Even if you lend to many nations, you will not borrow.”
145. I remember and cherish the words of this covenant throughout my life and meditate on them several times a day.
146. Do not neglect the words of the covenant given to you even for a moment, and continue to meditate and pray.
147. The power of the word will be revealed to the saints.
148. The life of faith is not done with human kindness.
149. Saints must stand on the power of the Word.
150. In this way, even if a typhoon blows or a severe drought, we will be deeply rooted in the Word and overcome it.
151. Without the words of the covenant, everything collapses in an instant.
152. Never neglect it, and starting today, find the Word, meditate on it, and pray every day.
153. The Israelites for so many years forgot the words of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and only knew them formally as knowledge.
154. Then life was so miserable and painful that I cried out to God.
155. Let's read Exodus 6:9 together.
“Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses because of their broken hearts and harsh slavery.”
156. Even if Moses speaks, if his heart is broken, he will not listen.
157. When life is too harsh, the Word cannot be heard.
158. Please take good care of me so that I don't get hurt on a daily basis.
159. I must protect my heart. No one can protect my heart.
160. Do not try to serve God by doing more grueling work than necessary.
161. The Word is not accepted.
162. There are many indulging in their laments.
163. Forget all the thoughts that I am a person who can't be this way or that way, starting today.
164. We must live holding on to the words of the covenant.
165. Seeing the condition of the Israelites, God said to Moses:
166. You go into Pharaoh's palace and tell him to let the children of Israel go.
167. Moses does not say Amen to the Word of God, but says:
168. Let's read Exodus 6:12 together.
“Moses spoke before the LORD and said, “If even the Israelites did not listen to me, how will Pharaoh listen?
169. It can be seen that Moses was also very broken-hearted.
170. Servants who speak the word of God are also people.
171. If you obey and move according to what he says, you will be able to do your work with joy.
172. But if he doesn't listen to anything you say and doesn't move, he loses his strength.
173. You end up saying negative things.
174. Hitherto Moses had freely conversed with the Israelites.
175. In the second half of verse 12 of Exodus 6: ‘I am a man with a dull mouth’
176. Literally translated, it means “your mouth is shaking”.
177. Moses left the Israelites for 40 years and lived in the land of Midian.
178. It seems that Moses' faith was not weakened, but his pronunciation was shaken and his ability to communicate was not good.
179. It would be difficult for us too if we lived in the US for 40 years and returned to our home country.
180. It seems that Moses spoke Hebrew to the Israelites.
181. Of course, to the Egyptians, it must be in Egyptian.
182. But I think I had some difficulties communicating in the two languages.
183. God heard Moses' difficulties and corrected them immediately.
184. Let's read Exodus 6:13 together.
“The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and they gave orders to the children of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt to me.”
185. God immediately speaks to Moses and Aaron.
186. They went together to Pharaoh's palace and delivered God's command to the king of Egypt.
187. Whom did God send me to save me?
188. Of course, you sent me the person who can move my heart the most.
189. Because of these people, the gospel still has power to deliver.
190. That doesn't mean that people with social status or power have excellent communication skills.
191. Totally different it.
192. Words have authority only when the Holy Spirit comes upon them.
193. Just because a particular person preaches the gospel is not persuasive.
194. At the time of the anointing of the Holy Spirit, it is preached by the saints who are worthy.
195. That one person should always be me.
196. How should I be prepared for that?
197. Of course, you must always be in a state where you can have a conversation with God like Moses.
198. As we listen to God's voice, we must be able to deliver that voice to someone.
199. Saints should check whether they are living through the passage of salvation.
200. God who came to save me wants to save others through me.
201. Now, March, April, and May are very hot in earnest.
202. In the future, you may encounter difficult and difficult situations that you have never experienced before.
203. I must go and play the role of Moses and Aaron to the groaning people.
204. May we live humbly with one another and pray without quarrels or strife.
205. We are the saved people of Jehovah God, so we live with a guaranteed end.
206. I hope you win with a bright face and joy on your face.
