38. Spiritual Concentration

Romans 7:19-23

19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

21 I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.

22 I love God’s law with all my heart.

23 But there is another power[a] within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.

A person who prays wants to focus on prayer.

Praying is like breathing without ceasing.

But the reality is not always so easy.

Many people hope to pray, but they miss prayer and live their lives.

He always feels sorry for his weak will and faith.

It is not because the will and effort are weak, but because the spirit is controlled by the flesh.

There is a spiritual principle in the thoughts of praying and the reality of not being able to pray.

The Apostle Paul confessed, “I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want to do.”

He has in himself a 'other law, the law of sin and death', and is drawn toward sin and compelled

It means doing things you don't like.

It means that you suffer because you can't do what you want and do things you don't want.

He wants to do good, but in reality he suffers because he does evil.

Strictly speaking, this is a contradiction.

Everyone tends to do what they want.

He avoids what he dislikes.

No one goes where they don't want to go and sees things they don't want to see.

Because when a person does an act, he likes it.

So, what is the meaning of the text?

Why do you groan that you are under the law of sin and death?

In other words, even though your head knows that sin is bad, in your heart you enjoy it.

You know that some action is not right, but the truth is that you want it in your heart.

The body cannot achieve what the spirit desires and desires.

The reality is that the flesh rules over the spirit.

1. Pray before anything else

19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. (Romans 7:19-20).

The Apostle Paul does not do what he wants, he does what he does not want. Says

There is something stronger than what we hope for as a human being and what we want in it. That is sin.

We do not have to correct our thoughts, we must overcome sin.

The Lord also said

38 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” (Mark 14:38).

When the spirit and the body are in conflict, the flesh always wins.

Spirit and body must not be in conflict.

The spirit simply obeys, but if we set the conditions for the flesh, we are bound to fall.

If you are determined to go to a prayer meeting, you must decide to go to that time and leave unconditionally.

If you think that you will make a decision based on the circumstances at that time, something more urgent will inevitably occur at that time.

We must not leave the decisions of the Spirit to the flesh.

God's Word is not an object of judgment, but an object of obedience.

Do not entrust the mind of the spirit to the flesh.

Instead of leaving the thought of praying to circumstances or conditions, we must put into practice the mind of the Spirit.

Prayer should be done before anything else.

Prayer should be your number one priority.

2. Stay spiritually full

20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. 21 I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. (Romans 7:20-21).

Thoughts are on the surface that emerges.

Deeper than that, at the heart of it is its own favorite pleasure.

Having fun is deeper than I thought.

A person's actions do not come from thoughts on the surface of consciousness.

It comes from the joy that lies at the heart of the heart.

What the person enjoys asserts the action.

Someone wanted to go on a diet.

But such thoughts cannot overcome the craving for delicious food.

It is right and right to go on a diet with health in mind, but you are already accustomed to delicious food.

You cannot overcome the desires of the flesh.

In order to live as a spiritual person, we must enjoy spiritual fullness.

The spiritual life should be the best and the most joyful thing.

To do this, we need to awaken the spiritual senses and maintain the fullness of the soul.

If you pray for a long time, your inner senses within you will come alive.

A person cannot overcome the flesh with determination and determination to live.

Spiritual power must come alive in it.

When we pray, we become more sensitive to God's presence and yearn for the Lord.

When I pray, my thoughts do not change, but the Spirit of the Lord fully works within me.

Prayer should become joy and joy.

You must pray for grace.

For prayer, we need to yearn for more grace and strive for worship, the Word, and godliness.

If we abide in the fullness of grace, we overcome sin and do good.

In that case, prayer becomes a festival of joy, not a heavy duty.

3. Rely on the Holy Spirit.

26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. (Romans 8:26).

The greatest power of a Christian is the Spirit of Christ.

The greatest power is that we have the Holy Spirit within us.

When we acknowledge the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit and live, we become the most powerful people.

If you pray with your own efforts, you will soon reach the limit.

Always seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for us before us.

In order to follow the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit, you must first give up your sovereignty.

If I lead, it is easy to follow the desires of the flesh.

If you lay down your sovereignty and rely on the Holy Spirit, the wishes of the Spirit will come true.

The Holy Spirit within me himself intercedes for us with groaning that cannot be uttered.

A Christian must have the Spirit of Christ living in him.

If you pray earnestly and rely on the Holy Spirit rather than trying to change your bad habit, the bad habit will go away naturally.

A Christian must first engage in a spiritual battle in order to draw close to Christ, rather than trying to become a new person for him.

Jesus Christ makes us new. Amen
