34. Healing Prayer I

 

James 5:14-16

 

14 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

 

▣ God created man. That is, he made man perfect. Being sick and ill is not a matter of the original structure. There are many causes of the body not functioning properly, but many diseases have a spiritual cause.

 

1. A spiritual understanding of the diseased phenomenon is required.

 

16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (James 5:16).

The body heals only when the spiritual cause is addressed.

You will have to go on the path of healing by looking at the spiritual causes that are easy to miss.

 

First, life must flow.

When the body is ill, the flow is blocked.

Breath, blood, nerves, etc. must flow.

Blockages are opened when we pray.

The Lord breaks down barriers.

Healing is the opening and communication of blocked organs through powerful airways.

 

Second, living things must follow God's order.

You must strive to heal your body, but you must also be spiritually sound.

Symptoms sometimes appear in the body when we do not follow God's order.

Because an evil spirit is in control.

We must defeat evil spirits.

Prayer casts out evil spirits.

 

 

Third, in order for living things to be healthy, they must be whole.

Spiritual lethargy leads to physical illness.

If you pray a lot, your spirit will be strengthened and filled.

When the soul prospers, all things prosper and the body becomes strong.

 

2 Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. (3 John 1:2).

 

Fourth, behind every disease is a spiritual disease.

If the spirit lives, sickness will be healed.

Physical obesity is because the spirit is empty.

It is to fill the emptiness of the spirit in the body.

 

But a person has to fill the heart, not the stomach.

The soul must be full.

When you have the most precious thing, you give up the less precious thing.

 

The Samaritan woman in John 4 had five husbands, but she was not satisfied. She then met the Lord and she finally found her soul satisfaction and her salvation.

 

2. Healing prayer is the work of saving souls.

 

15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. (James 5:15).

 

People are hesitant to pray for healing.

It is because they lack the faith that they can receive answers to their prayers.

But prayers for healing are always answered.

This is because the purpose of healing prayer is not to heal the sick, but to save the soul.

 

6 he stayed where he was for the next two days. (John 11:6).

 

The Lord did not visit Lazarus immediately when he was sick.

When he heard that Lazarus was 'dead', he went to find him and saved him.

His family hoped for a cure, but the Lord raised the dead to life.

Healing is the doing of the Lord's will.

 

10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10).

 

Paul prayed three times because of a thorn in the flesh, but he did not get better.

Paul lived more humble before the Lord because of his bodily thorns.

The answer to prayer is that God's will is done.

 

3. There are diseases that must be healed through prayer.

 

Not all ailments need to be treated with prayer.

Hospitals and drugs are also God-given treatment methods.

However, there are diseases that are not treated in hospitals or even with medications.

Because it is a disease that needs to be healed spiritually.

Because it is a disease that can only be cured through prayer.

 

First, you receive treatment in a hospital, but the cause is unknown and sickness is only healed by prayer.

Also, diseases that can be treated with drugs but cannot be cured must be healed through airways.

Among mental illnesses, those whose physical causes are unknown must be healed through prayer.

 

4 Then the people of Israel set out from Mount Hor, taking the road to the Red Sea[a] to go around the land of Edom. But the people grew impatient with the long journey, 5 and they began to speak against God and Moses. “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained. “There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”

6 So the Lord sent poisonous snakes among the people, and many were bitten and died. 7 Then the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

8 Then the Lord told him, “Make a replica of a poisonous snake and attach it to a pole. All who are bitten will live if they simply look at it!” 9 So Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed! (Numbers 21:4-9).

 

When the Israelites tried to return to Edom from the wilderness, Moses was broken and murmured against God. So God sent fiery serpents to bite them, and many people became sick or died.

It was. When the people turned, Moses prayed again.

This time, God made a bronze serpent and hung it on a pole and said that those who looked at it would live.

All who looked to the bronze serpent were healed.

 

We must believe that God's Will will be done and do not neglect to pray for the sick. Amen
