20. the Way to Hear God's Voice

SSamuel 2022. 5. 1. 07:28

1 Samuel 3: 4-11

4 Suddenly the Lord called out, “Samuel!” Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?”

5 He got up and ran to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

I didn’t call you,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So he did.

6 Then the Lord called out again, “Samuel!”

Again Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

I didn’t call you, my son,” Eli said. “Go back to bed.”

7 Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before.

8 So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy.

9 So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed.

10 And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”

And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

11 Then the Lord said to Samuel, “I am about to do a shocking thing in Israel.

Samuel grew up in the temple of the Lord from a young age.

One night he was sleeping in the temple when the Lord called Samuel.

When Samuel heard the voice calling him, he went to Eli the priest.

When this process was repeated three times, the priest Eli finally knew that God was calling Samuel.

When Eli heard the voice of the priest calling Samuel one more time, he warned him not to seek him, but to go to the Lord.

The fourth Lord called Samuel again, and Samuel went to the Lord and heard the word of the Lord.

A Christian is a person led by God.

He is the most blessed way to be led by God.

It is a blessing for Christians to hear the voice of God.

To receive God's guidance, we must listen to God's voice.

All Christians want to hear God's voice like this.

But not everyone hears the voice of God.

Samuel wanted to hear the voice of God.

He was called by God.

Samuel, who had turned away from God's voice three times, heard God's voice the fourth time.

I hope you will find a way to hear God's voice through Samuel's appearance.

1. The voice of God can be heard by everyone.

11 Then the Lord said to Samuel, “I am about to do a shocking thing in Israel.

(1 Samuel 3:11)

Samuel heard the voice of God in the temple when he was young.

The voice of God can be heard by everyone.

The reason people neglect to listen to God's voice is because they think that God's voice is only heard by special people.

I think that people who have attended church for a long time or who have a special mission should listen, but the voice of God can be heard by anyone.

Samuel was a little child, but he heard the voice of God.

You do not have to have physical sizing or spiritual power to hear God's voice.

Anyone who has the Spirit of God can hear it.

Anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior has the Spirit of God in them.

16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)

2. God speaks without giving up.

10 And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”

And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)

When God called Samuel the fourth time, Samuel began to understand God's voice.

God spoke to Samuel once, twice, three times, four times without giving up until he understood.

What God is saying is not at all because of any need Samuel wants. It is only God's earnest wish.

God wants to speak to all Christians, not just Samuel. Hearing God's voice is what God desires more than we do. The purpose of publicity is to inform as many people as possible, but God's voice is not publicity.

God's voice is a letter with an earnest story.

A promotional flyer is about reaching as many people as possible, while a letter is about reaching out to whomever you want.

Many Christians have heard the voice of the Lord at important turning points in their lives. It wasn't that he made any great decisions or made any effort on his own.

Peter heard the voice of the risen Lord on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

The apostle Paul heard the voice of the Lord on the road to Damascus.

George Mueller, who received answers to 50,000 prayers, was the first to receive answers to all his prayers by listening to the Word of God.

3. God's voice must be heard as the spirit

8 So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. (1 Samuel 3:8).

Samuel was sleeping when he heard a call from God.

But he goes to the priest Eli and asks why he was called and confirms.

When little Samuel hears the voice calling him like this, he goes to the priest Eli three times.

Only then did the priest Eli realize that it was the voice of God calling Samuel. Here is the secret of God's voice.

We must understand God's voice through the spirit, not the sound we hear with our ears.

This is the reason why many people fail to hear the voice of God. But even though God called three times, Samuel did not understand because young Samuel had not yet had such a spiritual experience.

I came to know because Eli, who had deep spiritual experience, realized that it was the voice of God.

Your spiritual senses must come alive.

The voice of God must be understood with the spirit, not with the ears.

Anyone can hear what the ear hears.

The voice of God must be understood through the spirit.

11 No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:11)

Amen
